Two large paintings are included in this suite of work, The Illustrious Fleet of Lowe Kong Meng and Lowe Kong Meng (portrait). In this works, Lowe Kong Meng, his fleet of ships, and his family are juxtaposed with yellow felt cutouts. The material ‘felt’ is used as a synecdoche for the expression of ‘feeling’ in these images.
