The Lives of Celestials, 2019

A culmination of 3 recent History Projects, The Lives of Celestials maps the lives of significant figures and events of the Chinese Diaspora in Australia from 1840 onwards. Large scale installations of chalk-drawings, photographs, video works and paintings construct a nuanced and cross-cultural perspective on the stories of migration, success, misfortune, trauma, and transcultural humanitarianism.
