THE MACAU DAYS
10 Chancery Lane Gallery, Hong Kong, 27 September - 27 October 2012
"Today the Portuguese, Macanese and Chinese intertwine their lives within the former colony and the remnants of the Jesuit churches remain. As all these peoples traversed the global lines of longitude and latitude they left marks creating a tapestry shaping history. John Young traces their paths and through brush and canvas, as well as print, brings them out of the history books for us to reflect how their lives were part of the great transformations. He pays homage through their myths and memories tying them magically to A-ma, the guardian goddess of the seamen of Macau."
